Casual Veterinary Nurse

We are seeking a positive, motivated and reliable individual to join our team on a casual basis with the potential to move to Part-Time in the future. Our team consists of 7 vets (some part-time), 9 nurses, 4 receptionists and a practice manager. We have a great work environment and team cohesion and all of us are dedicated to continually improving and updating our skills. We are all Fear Free certified or working towards our certification and we largely focus on reducing the fear, anxiety and stress in all of our patients in everything we do. Our nurses are also AVNAT Registered, paid for by GWAH. We have a low staff turnover with some members being here for 20 years+!

We pride ourselves on providing an excellent and compassionate level of patient care as well as developing a great relationship with our clients so that we can deliver them valuable education and service. To achieve this, we have a great nurse to vet ratio.
Our nursing team is vitally important to upholding our level of patient care.
They are responsible for:
- Blood collection
- Catheter placement and IV fluid line setup
- Medicating and providing supportive treatment for hospitalised patients
- Blood, urine and faecal testing using a large range of in house laboratory equipment
- Anaesthetic monitoring with multiparameter monitoring equipment
- Surgical procedure recovery
- Gentle animal restraint for ultrasound and other minor procedures
- Nurse consultations (dental and weight checks, post-op checks, adolescent health checks, Synovan injections + more)
- Patient admission and discharge for routine surgeries and dentals
We are also in the process of upskilling our nurses to be skilled in intubation, dental prophylaxis, radiology procedures and much more.

The ideal candidate will:
