Veterinary Nurse and Receptionist (Certificate IV RVN)

I started out as a hairdresser and was never fully satisfied, I always thought there was something more for me. I have always had a passion for animals and continued learning. I started at GWAH as work placement and now a nurse/receptionist and I can honestly say I’ve found my calling — what a joy it is to look after the animals that bring so much joy into their owners lives.

They have cared for two cats (Cleopatra and Miss Pud) and two dogs (Bandit and Larry) that we have had in our family during that time. From the initial appointment with Scruffy (our first rescue dog) to the sympathy and support offered and given during her illnesses and untimely passing and the caring of our other 2 girls Annie with 2 knee reconstructions and now the associated arthritis and oesophageal strictures and Megs heart murmur and dry eye syndrome along with the normal problems associated with dogs they have been nothing if not excellent.

I have been going to the GWAH for over 12 years now and the service & care given to my first German shepherd Bear was just second to none. The love that he was given in a very scary time for him was unmeasurable and for that I was so appreciative. My 2nd German shepherd Zeus loves visiting the vet and the excitement to get in the front door even after a few operations he still loves visiting the team. I always know that the care given will always be the best and the vet nurses are very special girls. I have trouble walking Zeus and the vet nurses have put their hand up to walk him for me which means the world to me. I always recommend GWAH if anyone asks for a vet.
