Dr. Ema Bowman

Veterinarian (BVSC (dist) MANCVS)
Dr. Ema Bowman
Dr Ema is a proud Kiwi, graduating from Massey University in NZ in 2008.  She has worked in NZ, Australia and North America and has additional qualifications in Canine and Feline Internal Medicine but can’t quite figure out where her passions lie – as well as difficult medicine cases, she is extremely interested in integrative approaches to pain management especially in older pets, nutrition as medicine, and she is on an absolute mission to improve the lives and welfare of Brachycephalic (flat faced) dogs.
Dr Ema is one of very few Veterinarians in Australia experienced in Brachycephalic airway improvement surgery and she teaches and trains Vets, Vet students and Vet nurses in Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway syndrome and surgical improvement techniques.  As part of this Dr Ema is a member of the Brachycephalic Welfare Association and heavily involved in advocating for more ethical breeding.  She is extremely passionate about educating vets, nurses and pet parents about how badly these breeds suffer due to their ‘designer’ looks and what needs to be done about it.  If you have a flat faced dog and you want to make sure their life is as long and happy as possible then you need to see Dr Ema!
